Endometriosis can cause pain and affect fertility. Treating it well takes experience: careful, minimally invasive surgery that removes the lesions while preserving your body. We care for you in Santa Fe and Polanco, Mexico City.
Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it — on the ovaries, the peritoneum, the pelvic ligaments and, in deep cases, near the bowel or bladder. This tissue becomes inflamed with each cycle and can cause pain, adhesions and difficulty getting pregnant.
It is a common and often underdiagnosed condition: living with disabling menstrual pain is not "normal." Timely diagnosis and treatment can change your quality of life.

Endometriosis surgery — especially deep disease — is one of the most demanding in gynecology. It requires identifying and completely removing the lesions (excision), often in delicate areas, without damaging neighboring organs. Not every surgeon has this specific training, and the difference shows in the results and in the risk of pain coming back.
Dr. Jaime Antonio Hidalgo Carrera devotes part of his practice to this surgery, with ongoing training in endometriosis surgical techniques — including an anatomy and surgical techniques for endometriosis course at Saint Louis University (2025) — and participation in specialized congresses in Brazil and Spain.
Endometriosis surgery can help women at different moments in their lives:
Endometriosis can make pregnancy harder. Treating lesions and endometriomas, when indicated, may improve your chances and prepare the way for fertility treatment if you need it.
Intense menstrual pain, chronic pelvic pain, pain during intercourse or bowel movements. When medical treatment isn't enough, surgery can bring relief and restore your quality of life.
Laparoscopy confirms the diagnosis and, in the same surgical session, treats whatever is found — avoiding repeated interventions.
We operate by laparoscopy, through small incisions, with a camera and fine instruments. In selected cases we use fluorescence techniques to see tissues better during surgery.
Every case is different. The approach, the extent of surgery and the results depend on your particular situation; we review them with you during the assessment, clearly and honestly. Before any procedure, an assessment by a health professional is required.
If you have pain or you're trying to conceive, let's talk through your case calmly and find the best option for you.
